Power 102.9's Benefit Concert at House Of Blues

Another night for me at the House of Blues...they're starting to know me on a first name basis. I honestly dont know if this is a good thing or a bad thing. The concert was basically held for donations towards St. Benard Parish by one of New Orleans popular radio stations Power 102.9 and the Power Posse'.

My new favorite R&B artist Kourtney Heart and her DJ Raj Smoove took the stage first doing her own renditions of Alicia Keys and Rihanna, one of her newest singles and her most popular one "My Boy" featuring Magnolia Shorty.

But of course...you all know I LOVE my fellow black folks, but why is it that we can NEVER be on time. While waiting for Cali Swag District, Curren$y, J Cole, and Juvenile to show up DJ Chicken, DJ Apple, DJ Dirty Red, Mike Swift, Downtown Leslie Brown, Big Abe, Big Herc and the rest of the Power 102.9 staff kept the crowd jumping and fist pumping along with Skip.

Finally Cali Swag District got there and everyone started doing their "Dougie". Not gonna lie but they were jamming. The even demonstrated those famous boogie moves. Clearly someone's been taking notes from Dallas.

Then Mr "Jet Life" himself Curren$y graced our presence. You know he had to roll up before he hit the stage.

This next artist hit the stage and I actually got a little star struck. Yes ladies and gents, J Cole came on. If this dud isn't the coldest new rapper. Its a reason that Jay-Z got him under his wing. I literally saw fans mouthing his lyrics word for word. When "Who Dat" came on the noise level was insane. Stop the Drake conparisons...dude is killing "Wheel Chair Jimmy" lyically.

Unfortunately the last artist I didn't really get to get any pictures of his performance. Juvenile, shout out to your ignorant ass entourage that mad it impossible for people to do their jobs. You being from New Orleans know that the backstage and side stage area of the House of Blues isn't that large, so really? I listened from the green room though and of course he brought it back with his Cash Money days and performed his new single "Drop That".

Once again I enjoyed myself. Big thank you to House of Blues New Orleans, Power 102.9, the Definition DJ's and all the artists that performed.

But my black people...lets try to be on time next go around...
